Been a week!

Heya All!

Just a quick note to let you know I haven't forgot you. I have been very busy with Homework and setting up my new studio. I needed a new studio because the one in the house is constantly being barraged by my children, and I can't get a thing done. SO! I have installed a second studio in my outside in my storage bay, this is where my workshop is also, and where I keep my non~Disney Toy collection. G.I.Joes, other action figures, Hot Wheels, superhero collectibles etc. So it's a good safe place for a studio.

In other news, Homework.... can't escape it, but it did give me an opportunity this week to get to know one of my online friends a litle better. My History of Design class assignment was to interview a working designer/artist/illustrator, so I did. I picked my friend Rob Kelly of (among other sites) the Aquaman Shrine(http://www.Aquamanshrine.com).

Rob fit the bill nicely and graciously allowed me an email interview. After the project is complete I will post the interview here, so you can all learn about this extremely talented and versatile individual. You can also find Rob's work at his home website http://www.namtab.com (yes that is batman backwards lol! Gotta Love him!

Well catch you all later. Have a great day & God bless!

New Icon Guides up

New Icon guides up at images2icons Facebook page.

Heya all!

Just a quick note to let you know the new "Action Heroes" icon guides are up at the Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=97240506989 (You can also see them here but this link will take you to all the guides) I really think you will like the selection.

For those of you not using "Facebook", Catch up with the times! (just kidding) I will also post the guides here, again using the linkn takes you to all the guides not just these.

To get these icons drop me an email at images2icons@gmail.com or images2icons@usa.com and I will .zip a set and send them (remember to tell me if you need Mac; since they default as Windows.)

As you can see I was not kidding about choices.  I had a lot of fun with this set, a lot of heroes that normally go unoticed made this set.  I guess my favorites would be the Tarzan set here.  What are you r favorites?  Write back with your answer, or even a suggestion for new sets.  My Pulp/Comic character creator friends; feel free to send me pics of your characters and I will produce a set of icons for them, pretty much any image will suffice.  I can also create letterhead logos etc.

Have fun and God bless!

Wal Mart has the nerve!!! Plus~ Aquaman is not just for Geeks!

Walmart has the nerve!

Heya All!
I am a little perturbed, see if you agree with me (I still love ya if you don't!)  I go to Wal Mart (sometimes, although I prefer Target) Well in Wal Mart I was beleaguered by my regular thought on Wal Mart's self checkouts.

This totally annoys me and is one of the big things I have against them.  They have self checkout; you say so what?  I say, do you really know what self checkout is?  It is Wal Marts way of saying we can still charge you the same price but give you even less service, and actually make you do the work yourself.  What do you think?  This pisses me off to a certain extent, kind of like retaurants where if you order food with something extra on it they charge you more, but if you ask for something to be left off they don't deduct it.

LOL! Call me silly (and I know some of you do) but I think if you use the self checkout, they should give you a discount on your purchases, what do you think? Let me know!

AQUAMAN is not just for geeks!

I admit to being an Aquaman fan!!!! I admit it loudly and clearly! I am also not a geek, although I have been accused of being a computer nerd.  I have long loved Super Heroes and have been collecting comics since I was knee high to a grasshopper.  My top 5 list would read 1.Batman (those who know me know why) 2. Aquaman (Gotta love the King of the Seven Seas!) 3. The Flash (the original Barry Allen of course, but Wally grew on me too.) 4. Green Lantern (Who wouldn't want to be that fearless?) 5. Captain America (Living Legend Symbol of America, even more so it seems then DC's Uncle Sam).

Anyways I know there are those of you out there, you closet Aquaman fans; I call upon you (let's try telepathically, hmm? nope) to come out of your closet!  To proudly proclaim your love of the KING (and I don't mean Elvis).  Aquaman (or Arthur Curry, which is his real name) has come a long way since his inception in November of 1941.  Aquaman these days is just tough as nails, and stronger than you would think.  I won't go into to much detail here, do some research!

Here is the best place to do it http://www.aquamanshrine.com/ the penultimate Aquaman site, maintained by my friend Rob Kelly, a fellow graphic designer.  Here you can find just about anything there is to know about the marine marvel.  Rob also maintains F.O.A.M. (Friend of Aquaman) a club for fans of Aquaman who go above and beyond.  Send Rob something original about Aquaman and become a member. (I am!)

Here is a new graphic based on the sites mast head, Rob just put together.  So grab your Tridents (thats a pitchfork to you country folk), and join us!

You can also become a fan at the Aquaman Shrine's Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/The-Aquaman-Shrine/43256084191?ref=ts

or its sister page which has been set up to get DC to notice us as fans and make an Aquaman Movie that page is found here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Give-Aquaman-An-Animated-Movie/281379281458?ref=ts

Well until next week all!  (or to all the Aqua Fans out there Semper Aqua~!)

Another Blog for your collection!

Heya All!!

Well here we are starting another blog. NO I am not trying to see how many blogs I can run at once; that honor belongs to my friend Rob Kelly at the Aquaman Shrine http://www.aquamanshrine.com/ who has more blogs than you can shake a stick at.

I am still considering a Podcast, but nothing is in concrete yet, looking to see if we have the both the audience and the time for it. If you think its a good idea let me know.

For those of you not in the know images2icons graphic arts studio, is currently online at Facebook and I will soon have the web site running as well (if I stop hitting snags.) The hold up has been that there is a lot of necessary coding, and I am elbows deep in homework. (I am currently a Visual Communications major at Westwood College. http://www.westwood.edu/ )

I originally set up images2icons to be a service that took customers personal photos and turned them into usable computer icons as a way of personalizing the computer, well we have grown past that (although we still provide that service) to full service graphic arts; you need it, we create it. The name has evolved in meaning as well, from the photo icon inference to taking your image and making an icon out of it (such as McDonald's Arches, Tony the Tiger the iconic type of icon, hmmm that sounded weird.) So bear with us here.

This is our second blog, my third personally. So join us as we tip toe through the graphics world, and whatever other worlds I may find, with cleats on heh heh!

Well time to get back to work! So you all have a great day, and God Bless!
